The hearts of Celine Dion fans will have to go on, following the announcement her concert residency at Caesars Palace in will end in 2019.
The French-Canadian music mogul confirmed via social media with “mixed emotions” she will perform her last show in Las Vegas will take place in June 2019. It’s sure to be an emotional moment states Dion:
“Las Vegas has become my home and performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a big part of my life for the past two decades,” Dion said in a statement. “Every show we do at the Colosseum throughout this fall, and right up until the final one, will feel very special.”
Dion has been performing in Las Vegas for the past 14 years. During her stay, there were many memorable moments, including the time she gracefully staved off a drunk fan who came onto the stage:
Does the end of her Las Vegas residency signal her retirement? Unlikely. Dion has just started recording new songs for the upcoming Beauty and the Beast movie, and is rumoured to be releasing a new album.
