Growing up in a small community in Memphis, Tennessee, Justin Timberlake’s grandfather introduced him to country artists such as Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson while his father introduced him to gospel music and artists such as The Eagles and Bob Segur. In his youth, Justin appeared on Star Search and was recruited to the All-New Mickey Mouse Club. In 1995 he joined NSYNC which led to his world wide fame.
As a member of NSYNC, which became a worldwide sensation and the fifth-best selling boy band in history, Justin thrived. The band released three successful albums with hit singles including Tearin’ Up My Heart, It’s Gonna Be Me, and No Strings Attached along with performing at the Academy Awards, the Olympics, and the Super Bowl.
When NSYNC elected to take a break in 2002, Timberlake saw the opportunity to explore a solo career. Influenced by his creative partners Parrell and Timbaland, they produced some of the biggest R&B and pop songs to date like Cry Me a River, Rock Your Body, and Sexyback. Every album has been a success with over seven million copies sold worldwide and winning numerous awards adding up to 60 prestigious awards over the years. Timberlake continues to release hits that dominate the Top 40 charts and putting on phenomenal performances, which is what makes him a pop icon in the music industry.
