The release of his third album, Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life was Jay’s career-defining album with hits like Hard Know Life (Ghetto Anthem) and Can I Get A..., achieving his first Grammy award, and leading to a duet with Mariah Carey to cement his mainstream status.
